On March 27th, 2025 The Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur organised an Educational visit to Pesticide Residue and Food Quality Analysis (PRFQA) laboratory located at University of Agriculture science Raichur. 

The students of  Pharm D (3rd year) and B.pharm(7th Semester) along Dr. Chandramouli Professor and Head, Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry and Dr. Sunil Kumar B Professor Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry visited PRFQA.

At the beginning, Dr. Prabhu Raj, a professor and Head of the PRFQA Lab, gave a brief introduction to the available instruments, their functions, and the training programs offered.

The PRFQA lab is NABL accrediated and is one among 25 labs in India. In this more than pesticides residues,heavy metals, food proximate and aflatoxin contaminants, and microbial contamination in different agriculture produce is analysed by using advanced sophisticated instruments like, HPLC, GC, Flash chromatography, LCMS, LCMS/MS, GCMS, UHPLC, GC-MS/MS, IEC, ICP-MS/MS,RTPCR etc.

The students observed the working of some of the above instruments with practical knowledge.

Every student has understood the techniques and clarified their doubts.Also students visited pesticide formulation testing lab located in the same premises which monitor the quality of the pesticides being sold in the market. Students were happy with the visit. Overall the visit was very informative and memorable one.
